Llansteffan, celebrated in many of Dylan Thomas's short stories, is a very peaceful village situated on the west bank of the Towy estuary, overlooked by the ruins of a twelfth century Norman castle.
Within 5 minutes walk of Heddfan is Llansteffan's beautiful sandy beach with access to the coastal path & the local store with restaurant and bar and 2 pubs.
Llansteffan is an excellent base for family excursions: National Botanic Gardens with the British Bird of Prey centre,Tenby, Oakwood Theme Park, Manor Park Wildlife Park, Folly Farm and the spectacular beaches and wildlife of Pembrokeshire are all within an hour’s drive.
The county town of Carmarthen is 8 miles away, here you will find a large choice of shops and restaurants, an indoor market, cinemas, supermarkets, leisure centre with swimming pool, a bowling alley, a hospital, doctors, dentists, chemists, vets, petrol stations, and all the high-street banks.
